Withdrawal limit

The limit for local and overseas cash withdrawal, top-up of CEPAS/telco prepaid cards and NETS purchases is S$1,000, S$3,000, or S$5,000 per day depending on the daily limit you have signed up for.

You may request to change the daily withdrawal limit via the following methods:

 

Funds transfer / Pay Any Card limit

The limit for transfer of funds and Pay Any Card transactions is defaulted at S$5,000 per day, with a maximum monthly limit at S$25,000.

Update particulars

At an enhanced OCBC ATM (only available at selected OCBC branches):

1. Insert your OCBC ATM card
2. Select “Other Services” after entering your PIN
3. Select “Other Services”
4. Select “Update Contact Particulars”

Deposit notes at Cash Deposit Machine

You may deposit cash conveniently at any of our Cash Deposit Machines that are located islandwide.

    • Deposit cash with or without an ATM card or with a passbook
    • $2, $5, $10, $50, $100 and $1,000 Singapore dollar notes are accepted
    • Maximum 200 pieces of notes and not exceeding $20,000 per deposit
    • Up to 5 deposits per account daily
    • SG50 commemorative notes are currently not accepted

    If you wish to deposit any SG50 commemorative notes, please go to any OCBC branch counter.

Security tips on using ATMs

Do's & Don't's on ATM Card PIN Managment

 

  • Do not choose a PIN that others can easily guess (e.g. birth date or telephone number).
  • Do not use sequential numbers (e.g. 1,2,3,4,5,6..)
  • Do memorise your PIN and do not write it down.
  • Do not share your PIN with another person because it is the same as giving that individual authority to use your name in a transaction.
  • Do not reveal your PIN to anyone. It should not be disclosed even if requested by an authorised OCBC Bank officer.
  • Do change your PIN frequently. 

 

Security Tips When Performing Your ATM / ATM Plus / ADM Transaction

 

  • Before you approach the ATM / ATM Plus / ADM, look around and check out the area. If anything seems suspicious, go to a different ATM / ATM Plus / ADM or use it at another time.
  • Block the pin pad when you are entering your private PIN.
  • When you have completed your transaction, put away your card, receipt and cash immediately. Look around again to check for anyone who looks suspicious.

Fees and charges for ATM Usage

OCBC Wing Hang ATMs in Hong Kong and Macau: Free     

     
  • OCBC Malaysia ATMs in Malaysia: Free
  • OCBC NISP ATMs in Indonesia: Free
  • MEPS participating banks' ATMs* in Malaysia: S$5
  • Other ATMs in China and other countries with Visa/PLUS service:
  1. Nominal service charge of 3% is levied on the S$ equivalent of the amount withdrawn (min S$5 and max S$20 per transaction)
  2. Administrative fee of 1.8% of the foreign currency transaction^
  3. Additional service fee, which may vary from bank to bank, may be imposed by the ATM bank

*Participating banks include Maybank, RHB Bank, Hong Leong Bank, Bank Rakyat, Ambank, CIMB, Public Bank, MEPS' ATM and Affin Bank.

^Foreign currency transactions are converted to local currency based on the rate determined by the respective card associations. Costs incurred by the Bank due to this currency conversion, together with the administrative fee  will be debited to your card account as part of the foreign currency transaction

Activation/ deactivation of cards for overseas ATM withdrawal

1. What is the Overseas ATM Cash Withdrawal feature?

The overseas ATM cash withdrawal feature allows you to withdraw cash at overseas ATM with your ATM card or Debit/. This feature needs to be activated before you can use it.

 

2. Why do I need to indicate my travelling dates when I activate the overseas ATM cash withdrawal now?

As an enhanced security feature to safeguard your account, you are required to indicate an activation start and end date to activate this feature. This helps to avoid the hassle of manually deactivating the feature when you return from overseas.


3. Can I leave the overseas ATM cash withdrawal feature activated perpetually?

We no longer offer perpetual activation of the overseas ATM cash withdrawal feature. From September 2017, you need to indicate an activation start and end date, with a maximum activation period of 12 months. You may set a new activation period closer to or upon the expiry of the current activation period to extend it.

 
4. What are the ways to activate the overseas ATM cash withdrawal feature of my card and how long will it take?

Please ensure that you have activated your card before you attempt to activate the overseas ATM cash withdrawal feature.

  1. Login with your OCBC Online Banking Access Code and PIN.
  2. Select Customer service > Overseas card use.
  3. Key in the OTP (One-time Password).
  4. Under the Overseas ATM withdrawals column, check the box for the relevant card(s).
  5. Indicate activation start date and an end date.
  6. Key in the OTP.

OCBC Mobile Banking App

(immediate)

  1. Login with your OCBC Online Banking Access Code and PIN.
  2. Select Menu > More services > Overseas card use.
  3. Key in the (One-time Password).
  4. Check the box under Overseas ATM withdrawals active for the relevant card(s).
  5. Indicate activation start date and an end date.
  6. Key in the OTP.

6. What is the earliest start date that I set? Is there a maximum activation period?

You may set the Start date within 90 days from current date. The maximum activation period is 12 months from the Start date.

7. Can I open an OCBC current or savings account with its ATM card and at the same time, request the Branch staff to activate the overseas ATM cash withdrawal feature for me?

 After you have opened an account, please approach the Bank Teller at the counter to activate the overseas ATM cash withdrawal feature of your card. Alternatively, you may use the options mentioned in Question 4 above.

8. Do I need to register for any services before using to activate the overseas ATM withdrawal feature?

You do not need to but please ensure that your mobile number is registered with the bank.

9. Do I need to register for any services before using rvice to activate the overseas ATM withdrawal feature?

 You only need to be registered for SMS-OTP or Vocal Password service as you will need to use it to complete the request.
