Give your HDPE2 plastic waste a new spin
Let’s build a better world for children and future generations. Join OCBC’s Nationwide Plastic Initiative to help give a second life to your HDPE2 plastic waste and turn them into fun and useful products.
For this initiative, OCBC will be joining hands with Plastify who will be collecting all HDPE2 plastics deposited in specially designated bins and then recycling them into household items.
These repurposed goods will then be sold at OCBC Wisma Atria. All sales proceeds will be donated to The Hut , a charity that helps children from lower-resource backgrounds with educational and development programmes.
Protects our ecosystems
The conservation of our environment allows for a functional ecosystem to develop and provide us with ample resources – clean water, fresh air, nutritious food.

What are HDPE2 Plastics?
High Density Polyethylene (HDPE) or Type 2 Plastic is a commonly-used plastic found in households. HDPE2 is highly recyclable as it can be easily processed and used in the production of new products. HDPE2 is lightweight and strong. It is also resistant to moisture, chemicals and UV light.
HDPE2 is often used for:
- Milk bottles
- Shampoo, soap, conditioner bottles and other personal care products
- Containers for household chemicals like laundry detergent and shampoo
- Containers for vitamins and supplements
- Plastic buckets and pails
Do look at the triangular identification number at the bottom of the container for the number 2. Do ensure the plastic is clean and dried before recycling. HDPE2 plastic is widely recognised as one the easiest plastics to recycle and is widely accepted by recycling programmes.
