Attractive real-time exchange rates

The online foreign exchange function is only available between 8am on Monday and 11.59pm on Friday.

On weekends, you will see an estimated foreign exchange rate when you set up any foreign exchange transaction involving SGD or USD. If you decide to make the transaction, we will process it the next working day at the prevailing foreign exchange rates.

Foreign Currency Deposits

Foreign currency deposits are subject to exchange rate fluctuations that may provide opportunities and risks. Earnings on foreign currency deposits would be dependent on the exchanges rates prevalent at the time of their maturity if any conversion takes place. Exchange controls may be applicable from time to time to certain foreign currencies. You should therefore determine whether any foreign currency deposit is suitable for you in the light of your investment objectives, financial means and risk profile. Any pre-termination costs will be deducted from your deposit. Foreign currency deposits, dual currency investments, structured deposits and other investment products are not insured.

If you do not have a Global Savings Account, you will be prompted to open an account instantly within the OCBC Digital App or Internet Banking. You can also do this at any OCBC branch.

*The earning of interest rate only applies to Australian Dollar (AUD), New Zealand Dollar (NZD), United States Dollar (USD) and Chinese Yuan Offshore (CNH). Rate Alerts and Auto-execute orders are only available on the OCBC Digital app.

Rate Alerts: Do note that there will be no currency exchanged. A created Rate Alert will be valid for 30 days. If the rate is not met, the Rate Alert will expire. You may renew afterwards.

Auto-execute orders: If you wish to exchange currencies at a preferred rate, you can create an Auto-execute order for a predetermined amount to be exchanged automatically when your preferred rate is met.

Worldwide cash withdrawal

• If you withdraw AUD, CAD, EUR, GBP, HKD, JPY, NZD or USD in the country that the currency is denominated in, you will not incur any foreign exchange conversion fee. For example, no foreign exchange conversion fee will be incurred if you withdraw HKD at OCBC Wing Hang ATMs in Hong Kong and Macau.
• If you withdraw other currencies – for example, Indonesian Rupiah (IDR) at OCBC-NISP ATMs – foreign exchange conversion fees will apply.
