Common questions
Why has my payee not received the funds I sent?

There could be several reasons:

  1. To receive funds from overseas sources, your payee must have taken certain steps required by his/her wallet provider. Examples include but are not limited to:

    • Accepting the Terms and Conditions related to receiving funds from overseas sources via the wallet app; and
    • Acknowledging the relationship between the sender and payee via the wallet app.
  2. Incorrect recipient details:

    • The recipient’s name is spelled correctly.
    • The mobile number or account number is entered accurately.
What is the submission cut-off timing for Pay to Wallet transactions?

There is no cut-off time for pay to wallet transactions

Are there any charges when I remit to wallets?
  • No charges for transfers to wallets in China (Alipay, Weixin Pay), Malaysia (Touch ‘n Go), Vietnam (Momo), and the Philippines (Coins, GCash, PayMaya).
  • For Indonesian wallets (GoPay, LinkAja and Ovo), these wallet operators may deduct a fee from the transaction amount before the funds are sent to the payee (recipient).
Why is there a difference in the amount I received when my transaction is reversed or refunded?

If your transaction involved currency conversion, the refund amount may differ due to exchange rate fluctuations:

  • The conversion rate at the time of payment may differ from the rate at the time of refund.
  • This can result in a higher or lower refund amount than the original payment.
How long will my transfer take?

Transfer times vary depending on:

  • The destination country and wallet provider.
  • Currency conversion requirements.
  • Security checks.
Why is my transfer taking longer than expected?

Possible reasons include processing time:

  • Transfers may take up to 2 working days due to security checks. As a regulated financial institution, we may conduct additional checks.
How do you notify me about a transfer?

OCBC will send you either an email, SMS or a push notification (depending on the contact information and your notification preferences you have set with OCBC) to inform you that your transfer has been submitted.

Can I send money from a joint bank account?

Yes, transfers from Joint (Or) accounts are supported.

How do I cancel my transfer?

Once a transfer is marked as successful, it means the money has left OCBC, so we can’t cancel it.

Do I need to hold the same currency as the recipient wallet?

No, you can only send funds from your SGD current or savings account and the system will convert the funds into the recipient’s currency at the prevailing FX rates

How can I fund a transfer?

Transfers can only be funded from an OCBC SGD Current or Savings Account. The eligible accounts will be shown during the transfer journey.

Some examples of ineligible accounts would be:

  • Child Development Account
  • All foreign currency accounts
