What is excluded from the minimum S$800 monthly spend?

Cashback is not awarded on the following: Annual card fees, Cash-On-Instalments, Instalment Payment Plan, PayLite, tax payments, interest, late payment charges, cash advances, balance transfers, bill payments made via Internet Banking, AXS or SAM network, and other fees and charges.

Transactions which are performed at merchants that fall into the exclusion categories/excluded organisations as set out in the Terms and Conditions governing OCBC 365 Credit Card Cashback Programme are excluded from the calculation of the minimum spend.

How much cashback can I earn each month?

The maximum amount of cashback that one account (the principal and all supplementary cardholders together) can earn each month is S$160. This works out to a total of up to S$1,920 in cashback every year.

How will I receive the cashback?

The cashback earned on the transactions performed in the current month will be credited in the OCBC 365 card statement in the next month.

What is the difference between transaction date and posting date?

Transaction date refers to the date when a purchase is made.

Posting date refers to the date the transaction is received by the card issuer, OCBC Bank. As merchants may make a settlement a few days after the transaction has been made, posting date may be a few days later than the transaction date. As such, the bank has no control over when merchant records the transaction.

The cashback computation is based on the transactions posted within the calendar month.

What is MCC? How is it assigned?

The MCC is a four digit-number assigned by Visa/Mastercard to describe the main business activity of a merchant. It is determined by the merchant’s acquiring bank (a financial institution that accepts and processes credit and debit card transactions on behalf of merchants).

As the card issuer, OCBC does not determine the main business activity of a merchant or the MCC assigned.

How will the assignment of MCCs affect my cashback?

We use MCCs to decide whether certain transactions qualify for cashback. For example, OCBC 365 Cardmembers earn cashback only on transactions that fall under certain MCCs (e.g. MCC 5812 – Eating places and Restaurant).

If the merchant’s acquiring bank assigns it an incorrect MCC, we will not be able to reward you for transactions made there. For example, if a merchant was determined to be a ‘Bar’ instead of a ‘Restaurant’, an OCBC 365 Cardmember will not be able to earn cashback on transactions made there – since transactions under ‘MCC 5813 – Bars, Taverns, Lounges, Disco’ do not qualify for cashback.

  • Dining cashback is applicable to spend at dining merchants locally and overseas with their main business activity classified as "Dining" which includes restaurants, cafes and caterers.
  • Online food delivery is applicable to online spend made at food delivery merchants specifically Deliveroo, foodpanda and GrabFood.
  • Where the local and overseas dining merchant is located within a hotel, bar or a country club, the main business activity of such merchant may not be classified as "Dining".
  • For the avoidance of doubt, the dining spend incurred at any merchant not classified as "Dining", such as spend on dining at bar and/or pubs as well as wedding banquets held at hotels and country clubs will not qualify for the dining cashback.

Groceries

  • Grocery cashback is applicable to spend at grocery merchants locally and overseas with their main business activity classified as "Grocery" only.
  • Online grocery is applicable to online spend made at grocery merchants with their main business activity classified as "Grocery". For example, FairPrice Online and RedMart.

Land transport

  • Land transport cashback is applicable to spend made at road and rail transport locally and overseas such as Grab (excluding GrabPay), Gojek, RYDE and ComfortDelGro.

Petrol

Petrol cashback is applicable to spend made at all petrol kiosks locally and overseas with their main business activity is classified as "Petrol".

For the avoidance of doubt, the petrol spend incurred through fleet cards (i.e. corporate charge cards that offer existing discounts) do not qualify for the petrol cashback.

Petrol

Enjoy up to 22.1% fuel savings all year round at Caltex service stations.

This is made up of: 

  • 18% upfront discount for all grades of petrol and diesel (this includes payment via CaltexGO app)
  • 4.1% cashback on gross fuel spend (or equivalent to 5% cashback on nett fuel spend) at Caltex as long as a minimum of S$800 spend is charged to OCBC 365 Credit Card in a calendar month

*Fuel savings of 20.2% at Esso service stations comprises of:

  • 16% upfront discount which includes station onsite discount, petrol station loyalty programme discount and OCBC 365 Credit Card discount and
  • Additional 5% rebate on nett fuel spend after discount (equivalent to 4.2% savings before discount), provided the Cardmember spends at least S$800 in total on an OCBC 365 Credit Card in a month. Transactions must be posted within a calendar month to qualify. Maximum cashback per month is capped at S$80.
