Supporting your business growth in the United States and beyond

Operating from New York and Los Angeles, our local team offers expert insights and guidance on expanding domestically or overseas

Overview

OCBC New York Agency (NYA) was established in April 1981 while OCBC Los Angeles Agency (LAA) began as a representative office in October 1987 before upgrading to Agency status in July 1989.

The ‘Agency’ label comes from how banks headquartered outside of the United States are licensed to operate. It restricts the range of services the offices may offer, but in all other aspects, both offices are branches of OCBC Bank. NYA is supervised by both the New York State Department of Financial Services and the Federal Reserve Bank of New York, while LAA is supervised by the California Department of Financial Protection and Innovation and the Federal Reserve Bank of San Francisco.

Both NYA and LAA primarily provide wholesale banking services such as commercial lending and trade finance to network customers. NYA also engages in large deposit taking. Both offices do not offer retail services.
