Skills-based volunteering
We recognise that banking professionals are uniquely equipped in areas from Data Analytics to Financial Literacy, advisorship for businesses and Cyber Risk. By leveraging the experience and expertise of our employees across the bank, we are able to provide the right support for those in need.
We aim to achieve a 30% year-on-year increase in our number of skills-based volunteer projects.
In order to succeed, it has become increasingly important for vulnerable individuals to acquire skills in money management, fraud surveillance, digital, entrepreneurship or personal development.
We support individuals and charities, which increasingly see the need to digitalise and leverage data to be more efficient so that they can better support their beneficiaries.
Set up a data dashboard to support efficient operations
OCBC volunteers use their data analytics expertise to help Food from the Heart Community Shops track food supplies to ensure that families can always get food items of their choice.
Teaching low-income families how to manage money well
Our volunteers use their financial knowledge to teach low-income families how to better manage their finances under the OCBC-NTUC First Campus Bridging Programme. We fund pre-school education for children from these families.
