Creating a sustainable world. It's all in our hands.

The OCBC Climate Index measures the current levels of environmental sustainability awareness and climate action among Singaporeans.

Launched in 2021, the OCBC Climate Index hopes to raise awareness about the carbon emissions from human activities as well as nudge more environmentally sustainable behavioural change.

It was developed in partnership with Eco-Business, Asia Pacific’s leading sustainable development media and business intelligence organisation and 2,169 Singaporeans aged between 18 and 65 were surveyed online from 4 to 16 June 2022.

Findings at a glance

The OCBC Climate Index is based on an individual’s climate action conversion journey. The journey’s three stages – Awareness, Adoption and Advocacy – are the three pillars of the Index, which cut across the four key themes of urban living – Transport, Home, Food and Goods.

A total of 106 questions are asked. At the end of a questionnaire, a score is given on a scale of 0 to 10, where 0 indicates almost no awareness, adoption or advocacy of green knowledge and practices while 10 indicates the opposite – a fully-aware, green adopter and advocate!
