Singapore, 31 August 2026 – DBS, OCBC and UOB participated in a landmark S$5 billion sustainability-linked loan supporting the acquisition of ST Telemedia Global Data Centres (STT GDC) by funds managed by KKR, a leading global investment firm, and Singtel, a leading connectivity, digital infrastructure and services group based in Asia.

The financing underscores strong lender confidence in the long-term growth prospects of digital infrastructure and data centres, a sector benefiting from growing demand for cloud computing, artificial intelligence (AI), data storage and connectivity services globally.

DBS, OCBC and UOB each made significant commitments to the SLL and supported the financing as Mandated Lead Arrangers, Bookrunners and Sustainability-Linked Loan Coordinators for the facility, alongside the broader lender group.

The financing incorporates two key sustainability performance indicators aligned with STT GDC's environmental objectives: increasing the percentage of renewable energy in total electricity consumption, and increasing the percentage of green data centres across its portfolio.

STT GDC's sustainability targets reinforce its commitment to supporting the transition to a lower-carbon digital economy. Headquartered in Singapore, STT GDC is one of the world's fastest-growing data centre operators, with operations across 20 major business markets in Asia Pacific, the United Kingdom and Europe. The company is well-positioned to support growing demand for AI, cloud computing and other compute-intensive workloads.

Mr Amit Sinha, Group Head of Telecommunications, Media & Technology, DBS, said: “The next phase of Asia's digital growth will require both the rapid expansion of compute infrastructure and a continued focus on responsible growth. As AI and cloud adoption accelerate, data centre operators are increasingly seeking to scale capacity in a way that balances performance, resilience and long-term sustainability. Drawing on our deep understanding of the digital infrastructure ecosystem, DBS is pleased to support KKR and Singtel on this landmark transaction. The sustainability-linked structure aligns the growth of critical digital infrastructure with the transition to a lower-carbon digital economy.”

Ms Elaine Lam, Head of Global Corporate Banking, OCBC, said: "The rapid expansion of AI and cloud adoption is driving unprecedented demand for high-quality digital infrastructure. We are proud to support KKR and Singtel in this landmark transaction, which will help advance STT GDC's next phase of global expansion and support its sustainability ambitions. This underscores OCBC's commitment to enabling the growth of critical digital infrastructure while driving measurable sustainable outcomes."

Mr Edmund Leong, Head of Group Corporate Banking, UOB, said: “As Asia's digital economy accelerates, data centres have become critical infrastructure underpinning AI, cloud computing and digital innovation. This landmark transaction reflects the growing need for capital to develop the infrastructure that will power the region's next phase of growth. This also demonstrates that sustainable financing can support economic growth while advancing environmental goals. At UOB, we are committed to connecting capital, businesses and opportunities across ASEAN and beyond, supporting our clients' strategic ambitions while contributing to the region's sustainable development.”
