Featured by the National Geographic, Asian Civilisations Museum and South China Morning Post, the 4th-generation workshop crafts and restores wooden statues of Taoist and Buddhist deities by hand. This is achieved using traditional techniques from the early Qing Dynasty listed today in China as part of its national Intangible Cultural Heritage.

4th-generation apprentice craftsman Ng Tze Yong provides a glimpse into the ancient craft and shares how this heritage business is adapting to Singapore’s modern landscape.

She has been the organisation’s Chairman since 2007 and has also served on various government and statutory board art advisory committees, including the National Arts Council’s Public Art Trust, Venice Biennale Commissioning Panel, and the Land Transport Authority’s Art Review Panel.
