SWIFT gpi

What is SWIFT gpi and how can it help your business?

While the cross-border payment landscape continues to improve due to the benefit of digital technologies, corporates and businesses remain concerned about issues such as payment traceability, payment delays and intermediary transaction fees. To address these issues, we leverage on SWIFT global payments innovation (gpi) services to provide a faster and more transparent cross-border payment solution accessible via Velocity@ocbc (Business Internet Banking) and OCBC Business Mobile Banking.

With SWIFT gpi, your business can benefit from

  • Real-Time Traceability

Track your incoming and outgoing telegraphic and MEPS transfers easily with an end-to-end view on payment status using the UETR (Unique End-to-End Transaction Reference). Knowing if your supplier/beneficiary's account is credited enables better cash forecasting and decision making.

  • Faster Cross-border Payments

Your beneficiary will receive cross-border payments within the same day*, shortening your supply cycles and reducing exposure to FX risks. Faster payments from your buyer also allow same-day use of your funds.

  • Payment Confirmation

You can now confirm when your payments reach your supplier/beneficiary's account, enhancing trust in your business relationship with them.

  • Transparency on Fees

Transparency on the total amount of fees and FX rates applied by beneficiary and intermediary banks aids in reconciliation.

*Typically payments made by banks on SWIFT gpi standard are received by the beneficiary within a day.
