12 days before Christmas, when the Mighty Savers Family was having their breakfast over Daddy’s favourite chocolate bread and milkshake, Mummy Sandra asked her children what they wanted for Christmas. Sally shouted Jazz classes, Simon wanted a more powerful telescope and Baby Sarah pointed to her pink ribbons on her head.
To teach her children the joy of giving and sharing, Mummy Sandra suggested them to think of ideas on what they could do to spread the Christmas cheer to the less fortunate children without spending lots of money.
Sally, who loved performing, said they could visit The Singapore’s Children Society on the weekend so that she could dance for them. Simon pondered before saying that he could share his astrology knowledge with them. Both children also said that they could sing the Christmas carols which their schools just taught them. Sarah, unfortunately, only giggled.
The parents were glad to know that their children were kind and helpful. Daddy agreed to be the Santa Claus that day to read Christmas stories to the children. Mummy said she would immediately shop around Thrift shops to buy a Second Hand Santa Suit for Daddy. She would also buy some candies to give to the children.
That weekend, Sally was the perfect compere. She introduced the Mighty Savers Family to the audience before performing a special Santa dance for them. Simon taught the children about the Universe and its 9 planets. He even showed them how to use the mini telescope which he brought along. Sarah was busy crawling and tumbling with the little children. Daddy Sam looked very handsome in the $10 Santa suit Mummy bought from The Salvation Army. The children crowded around him for his stories and candies. Everyone had a good time and the day ended with all singing the Christmas carols.
The Mighty Savers children learnt that charity began from their hearts. Their parents rewarded them with MacDonald's meals so that they could save more money to donate to charity next Christmas. It was an unforgettable Christmas for the Mighty Savers Family.
