One day, Simon and Sally were cycling in the park when they came across a little girl crying under a tree. Sally got off her bike and knelt beside the girl and asked her why she was crying. The little girl replied in between sobs that her name was Amy and she was sad because she could not afford to buy her parents any presents this Christmas as she did not have any money. Her family is poor and they have barely enough to eat everyday. Simon came along and comforted Amy. He took down Amy's address and assured her that they would try and help her. Both Simon and Sally decided to ask Mummy Sandra and Daddy Sam for their advice.
The next day, Simon and Sally told their parents about Amy. Mummy Sandra suggested that they perform some tasks in exchange for money. She and Daddy Sam would give them $5 each for every completed household chore. The money earned could be used to help Amy buy the Christmas presents.
For the next one week, Simon and Sally diligently performed their chores and eventually managed to save all their earnings. By the end of the week, they had saved a total of $60!
On Christmas day, Simon and Sally invited Amy and her family to their house and presented them with their hard-earned $60. Amy and her family were very touched and grateful to the Mighty Savers Family. Amy also said that from then on, she would look upon Simon and Sally as role models and save money.
