It was just one week before Christmas. Sally and Simon were very excited because after school, their parents, Sam and Sandra were taking them to shop for Christmas presents. They had been saving half of their school pocket money everyday especially for the arrival of Christmas. As this was also the 1st Christmas that their baby sister Sarah will be spending with them, they had decided to use part of their savings to buy a present for her and of course their parents too.

But during school hours, something terrible had happened. There was an announcement that one of Simon's classmates, Julia's father had met with an accident and his family was in need of money and blood supply.

Sally and Simon went home to tell their parents what had happened.

After discussion, Sally and Simon decided to donate all of their savings to Julia. Although they were a bit sad that they could not buy any more presents for their family members now but on the other hand they were happy because they could help their friend. Sally and Simon also decided to donate some blood to the family.

After a few days, the school principal told them that Julia's father was out of danger and they were very thankful for all the help and money they had collected.

Finally, the day has arrived. It is Christmas’ Eve today. Sally and Simon had both hand-made a Christmas card for their parents and a soft toy doll for Sarah. And to their surprise, they saw two big Christmas presents for them. One was from their parents and another one was from Julia's mother. It was a big box of chocolate cookies made by her!

Sandra and Sam told them that they are very proud of them for the Christmas spirit of SHARING AND GIVING. And to practise the importance of saving in case of any unforeseen emergency.
