Christmas is coming soon. Simon and Sally are planning a special and unusual Christmas for their parents. Their aim is to spend as little as possible on this festive season so that they do not need to withdraw out their savings from their OCBC mighty saver accounts.
On the other hand, they still want to give their parents and Baby Sarah a special and unforgettable Christmas. Being mighty savers, they have lots of great ideas on savings.
They came up with a saving plan. For Christmas presents, it will be all handmade. Simon will make a necklace using glittering beads for his mother while Sally will do some handicrafts and cards for their parents. They will make a piggy bank using plastic cans for Sarah. This is to cultivate her to save while she is young. They are also thinking to decor their house and give the family a big surprise. Simon is planning to use recycled materials to make a Christmas tree. Sally is thinking to prepare a sumptuous dinner for the family. She cuts out saving coupons from newspaper and magazines so that she can get the turkey and food at a cheaper price. She intends to bake a log cake for the family too.
Daddy Sam and Mummy Sandra also have full of surprises for their children. Being parents of mighty savers, they set good examples for their children. They are not going to spend much money this Christmas too. So, for the children's presents, they are going to make scrap books and book marks for them. They will plan a lot of fun activities for Christmas which they do not need to spend money. This will not only help to save a lot of money but also help to foster their relationship closer.
Daddy Simon and Mummy Sandra are also going to do some charities by baking pastries for the old folk homes. They want their children to know that while saving is important, helping others are also as important. Helping others may not necessarily be in term of money, but most importantly is the sincerity.
With all these preparation and great effort, mighty savers family will definitely have a special and meaningful Christmas this year.
