Q1. When must I make my choice?

You should make your choice and return the form by 30 June 2008. To transfer your CDA to OCBC, you need to complete Form BB4(A) - the red form and submit it at any OCBC branch before 30 June 2008.

You can also mail the forms to the Ministry of Community Development, Youth and Sports (MCYS) using the postage-paid envelope. Please note that the Snack Box is given if you submit your form at our OCBC branch.

Q2. What happens after I submit the Form?

From June, MCYS will send you an acknowledgement letter about 1 week after MCYS receives your form, or about 10 days after you submit your form through any OCBC Branch. You can call the Baby Bonus hotline or log onto the Baby Bonus online enquiry service using your Singpass to check.

In early August, OCBC will send you a letter to inform you of your new OCBC Children Development Account (CDA) number. You will receive funds transferred from DBS Bank (POSB) by 7 August 2008, and the balance will be reflected in your August 2008 account statement. You will also receive your Baby Bonus Card, Personal Identification Number (PIN), internet and phone banking PINs (if you had applied for these) by mid August 2008.

Q3. How do I apply if I have lost the form or did not receive the form sent by MCYS?

If you do not have the form or have misplaced the form, you can apply by going to any OCBC Bank Branch with the latest original CDA statement from DBS Bank.

Q4. What happens to my existing GIROs to deduct from my DBS CDA?

Your existing GIRO arrangements to pay Approved Institutions (AIs) will be automatically linked to the new CDA. MCYS will write to your Approved Institution to update them of your child’s new CDA number. Therefore, it is important that you return Form BB4(A) (Option cum OCBC CDA Application Form) early so that MCYS can update your Approved Institution.

Q5. What will happen to my CDA from now until 1 August?

You can use your current CDA with DBS/POSB until 31 July 2008. Thereafter, your account will be closed, and the CDA balance transferred to your OCBC CDA.

Q6. Will OCBC charge me any fees for this transfer?

No, there will be no charges for this transfer exercise.
