Angela and Natasha A mother's selfless devotion was rewarding for her daughter

Being a single mother, I have to bear the financial responsibility of bringing up my 13 year-old daughter, taking care not only of household bills but unexpected expenses that crop up occasionally.

Like all parents, I also want the best for her education but am realistic enough to recognise what resources I can provide. So when I heard about OCBC EasiCredit one morning on the radio, I did not hesitate to send my SMS to the number given. Within a short period of time, I received a call from an OCBC officer. And within a couple of days, my application was approved and the funds transferred to my bank account.

OCBC EasiCredit helped me to get a laptop my daughter desperately needed for her school projects; I could also afford to take up additional training courses which were of great benefit to my career. Having OCBC EasiCredit definitely eased my financial strain and has gone a long, long way in helping me make my ends meet!"

Mr Teo and his mum A son's selfless love has made a touching reunion possible

My dream was to take my 90 year-old mother to Kuching, Sarawak, to visit her 95 year-old brother one last time. I was most grateful to OCBC for approving the EasiCredit loan that would have made it possible to see their smiles when they were both together again.

Unfortunately, before I had the chance to buy the tickets, she fell and I had to use the money for her trip to settle her hospital bills instead. But now, thanks to OCBC EasiCredit’s Life’s Precious Moments Contest, the full loan amount has been waived.

Hopefully, my mother will be blessed with a speedy recovery so that she can travel to be with my uncle once more. To see them reunited would be the most beautiful thing in the world.

A wife's love is helping her husband get back on his feet

My husband was very active when he was younger. He excelled in track and field events at school and was vice captain for the badminton team. Then, during national service he noticed that his right leg was becoming weak, but as he did not come from a wealthy family, he thought specialist treatment was beyond his means. So he simply trained extra hard.

After graduating from university, he joined the Singapore Civil Defence Forces as a Senior Officer, because he wanted to help save lives. However, his condition gradually became so bad that he went to consult an orthopaedic surgeon at the Singapore General Hospital. A scan revealed that the Posterior Cruciate Ligament (PCL) in his right knee was badly damaged. He realised his condition might put lives in danger, and with great regret he decided to resign.

Today, he still suffers pain and discomfort, but when I ask him to go for reconstructive surgery he says he would rather spend money on our kids’ education. He never thinks of himself. That’s why I decided to apply for OCBC EasiCredit for treatment which is helping him get back on his feet. Now I’ve won this competition, I hope I can give my husband back both his health and his active lifestyle.
