Sponsorships

Business Awards

OCBC Bank has been supporting the small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) and entrepreneurs since the 1930s. We are committed to promoting the spirit of entrepreneurship, and are a main sponsor of various business awards that recognise the accomplishments and celebrate the successes of businesses ranging from emerging enterprises to large corporates. This is in line with our ongoing commitment to support enterprises across the various stages of their business life cycle.

The Emerging Enterprise (“EE”) Award

The brainchild of OCBC Bank and The Business Times, the EE award was introduced in 2008. The award aims to recognise outstanding young businesses in Singapore, and marks a first in the SME industry for being an award that reaches out to smaller businesses. It is the only award in Singapore that offers prizes of close to S$500,000 worth of grants and professional services to each winner.

The award is supported by MasterCard, RSM, SPRING Singapore, INSEAD, Acorn Marketing & Research Consultants and Singtel.

The Enterprise 50 (E50) Awards

The Enterprise 50 Awards was created in 1995 to recognise top performing local enterprises across all sectors that have contributed to the economic development in Singapore and abroad. It has since become a definitive list of the 50 most enterprising, privately-held local companies in Singapore. A strong advocate for enterprise and entrepreneurship, OCBC Bank has been sponsoring the E50 Awards since 2006.

The award is jointly organised by The Business Times and KPMG in Singapore. Supporting partners comprise the Singapore Business Federation, Infocomm Development Authority of Singapore, International Enterprise Singapore and SPRING Singapore.

The Business China Awards

The Business China Awards honour outstanding businessmen, entrepreneurs, professionals and organisations who have contributed to enhancing relations between Singapore and China, and fostering appreciation of the Chinese language and culture. The patron of the award is former Minister Mentor Lee Kuan Yew.

As a Singapore bank with a long history in China, OCBC Bank has been the joint presenter of the Business China Awards since its launch in 2010. Our support underscores our commitment to strengthen engagements between the two countries and to support the international development of our local enterprises.

The Entrepreneur of the Year Award (“EYA”)

The Entrepreneur of the Year Award salutes and honours top local entrepreneurs who have demonstrated outstanding performance as business owners in their chosen field of entrepreneurship.

Inaugurated in 1989 by the Rotary Club of Singapore and co-organised by the Association of Small and Medium Enterprises (ASME), OCBC Bank has been the main sponsor of the award since 2002. Our longstanding support of the award demonstrates our continued commitment to homegrown entrepreneurs and in promoting the entrepreneurial culture in Singapore.
